I've read two books from Lynda La Plante before, both of them being in her detective series. I really like the idea of this book, (being someone who loves reading about serial killers) and this quote especially resonated with me: "when a person commits a crime for fun, they can take it or leave it; but when a person commits a crime their life depends on it, they can become killers in a blink of an eye. If you don't catch them in time, they can be the ones you read about in the news". I really enjoyed reading this superbly creepy and eerie opening, which is definitely refreshing after all of the detective fiction I've read these last couple of weeks.
