Someone said the book is about horses *crying laughing*

Two boys find a corpse in a lake, and that scene fades. The book seems to offer a recap of the detective's first case and a quick introduction for those who missed the first novel in the series. From there it launches into present day banter about some robberies, home life, and memories told in italics.

Seems like a great story so far and the friendliness and banter hopefully set the stage for a close group of detectives. I would love to read more!
