I have to admit, I haven't really liked the samples from this author in the past, and I'm hesitant to really get into this one seeing as it's the second in the series. That being said, I enjoyed this excerpt. The opening hooked me and I'm more curious to read on than I was with her previous books.
I don't really like the cover. It doesn't really stand out or catch my attention, and had I been browsing in a bookstore and picked this up, I'd probably re-shelve it without much thought. I do like the title and the explanation for what a "Judas horse" is, though, and I'm intrigued how that character plays out in the book.
