I’m immediately drawn in right along with the two boys as to what’s in that lake. Black crows and dark nasty water give me an ominous feeling. This can’t be good, and it isn’t. There’s a dead body. I like how La Plante contrasts DC Warr’s lighter happier personal life-at the moment- to this darkness. A mystery I’d love to read to the very end!
