This is the retelling I’ve dreamed of my entire life, and more so now that the newest film adaptation of Little Women has graced our screens. In just a few pages, I was transported into Alcott’s world again and into the arms of my beloved characters who even after many years, still make me feel with the same intensity and passion as before. I understand why Alcott did not end up pairing Laurie and Jo together, but that doesn’t mean it hurt the very essence of my soul when he and Amy found love instead. This retelling does the hypothetical relationship of Jo and Laurie justice. Laurie is such a great man and Jo is such a lovely independent character, and they mesh so well together even written by a different author.
