Little Women by Louisa May Alcott has always been a dear favorite of mine. The March sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy have such a beautiful relationship with each other as they are raised by their dotting mother while their father is away at war. I was never happy with the ending as I felt Jo and Laurie, the neighbor and greatest friend to the March family, were destined to be together. The retelling of the classic tale by Stohl and De La Cruz takes us back into the world of the March sisters but through the eyes of Jo, the writer. I love that the perspective of this book gives a more in depth look and the dynamics between the March sisters, Laurie, and societal expectations. These women have filled the gap into the unknown world of Jo March outside of her written book "Little Women." I instantly fell in love and read this book in one day. Thank you Margaret Stohl and Melissa De La Cruz for filling in that gap and creating a new perspective for the beautiful story of the March Sisters.
