Even knowing the story of Little Women, it feels a bit weird to be reading this bit that happens in between on its own. I feel like I need to be reading the beginning of Little Women first and then this. It feels a bit disjointed to me.

That being said, the writing style is attractive and Jo March is written well. She has the same fire as she does in Little Women, which is nice to see. It can be hard keeping continuity of characters that were created by someone else and I think that this was done in a good manner. Amy and Meg fit their Little Women counterparts as well. The only sad part is missing Beth even though I know exactly why she isn't included in this book. The heartache is still clear.

Overall, I think this is a good addition to Little Women.
