I can't believe it took me so long to get around to this one!

I had the best time reading this one. It was so WELL DONE. The writing was beautiful and the layering within the novel (the characters inside the actual novel reprising their roles from Little Women and Alcott's actual history (since Little Women was based on her and her real life family)) was very thoughtful and successful. Everything was neatly tied up and all the plot points circled back to the beginning. It was just a really well-crafted work.

The writing was fantastic (lyrical and pretty) and the banter was EXCELLENT. This one may very well be a re-read for me, which is high praise, since I almost never re-read books.

I honestly didn't expect this one to have as big of an impact on me as it did, but I am so glad I read Jo & Laurie. The worst part about the original Little Women is that those 2 don't end up together. I am so glad that they got to in this re-novelization. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to read this book. I really hope more things like it come out in the future.
