This is first-and-foremost a piece of fanfiction. If I had to tag this like a work on ao3, it would probably be something like: post-canon, friends to lovers, fluff, angst, period-typical swearing, mildly graphic depictions of sickness, they're kind of stupid about their feelings but it all works out in the end, let Jo March say Christopher Columbus!, cw: aristocrats.
Jo & Laurie can also be read without extensive knowledge of the source material, though I wouldn't recommend reading it on no knowledge of the OG. The characters and events are just more meaningful with context. But if you insist on reading this without any Little Women background, at least skim through the Sparknotes first. (Scandalous, I know.)
