I mean, retelling of the classic Little women immediately grabbed my attention. I started it with fair excitement however this book didn't meet my expectations.

1869, Concord, Massachusetts - Jo as a writer was quite compelling to read and as an independent woman was even better to witness. Perhaps I wanted more of Laurie? Having said that, I thought that the relationship between Jo and Laurie felt underdeveloped, plus the pacing of the story was often slow. I did like the easy writing and thought that the authors did a great job at researching on the original thoughts.

There are some trigger warnings in this novel to be taken into consideration and I might say that readers would probably have a love or hate relationship with this book (some might find it fun? a bookish dream? or quite a disaster). Personally, Jo & Laurie wasn't my favorite.
