I love that these two authors were able to write historical fiction without making it confusing and 'old-timey'. I often run into that when I read historical texts. It all sounds like it came from a textbook. However, this book does not have such a problem!
I love love love the description! It's not boring and it provides just enough detail that a reader is still left to create their own scene. There was enough description for me to follow and understand, but little enough that there was room to imagine it the way I wanted. Have read many books in my time, I can say that I don't see that often. It's usually overly descriptive or not descriptive enough or the description is poorly written. This book does it well!
