As a huge fan of Little Women (both the book and the new movie), I was very excited for this book. I know there is a lot of backlash and negative reviews from fans of the original questioning this authors decision to "push" best friends who had "no interest in each other" together. However, I disagree with these fans. This is a fictional book and a new take and new direction on the original story and its characters- if you disagree, or think this will ruin Alcott's characters for you, simply do not read it. No need to negatively rate a book that you have not read because you disagree with its existence. I think this author did a great job at creating a new story and a new direction for a classic novel. It was fresh and interesting and I enjoyed it from start to finish. As an added bonus it is a gorgeous book that looks great on my shelf!
