A fun retelling of a classic!
I loved reading Little Women and seeing the various versions of it in the movies that were made. I went into this book treating it like I would a variation of the original. That way I could appreciate it for it’s own take of the story. And I did.
This was a lighthearted story and I like how it filled in the part in between the original first part of Little Women and the sequel, Good Wives. It was cool to see Jo in her journey to get the second book written (and grow and mature) as well as the blossoming romance between her and Laurie. That was really sweet! (and kind of what I wished would have happened in the original.
I know many people may not like this book, but you can tell that the authors did a lot of research in writing it and I figure if you can write fairy tale retellings that end differently, you can do the same with other classical literature.
