A fun reimagining

The authors took bits from Alcott’s own life and wove them into this story of Jo & Laurie, giving everyone who shipped them a chance to see “what if.” Even as someone who hardcore loves how Little Women ended (and who Jo actually ends up with), this is still a lovely story. With the incorporation of some of Alcott’s life into it, it’s like the authors also gave her the happily ever after we all want our authors to have as well.
Instead of Jo going off on her own to the big city, she goes with Laurie, which is when he spills the beans on his feelings for her and asks her to marry him. Jo can’t accept him at that time, and he leave for college broken hearted, only to wind up with someone else while there. The story follows Jo as she gets to know this woman Laurie is with and as she decides what she wants to do about her own growing feelings for Laurie (a bit of a turn around there!). It was a fantastic read and a fun take on Little Women.
