My first impression of Jo & Laurie is one of pure excitement. I love reading retellings and the characters from one of my favorite books as as a pre teen, Little Women, is perfect for this genre. Following Jo after her successful publication of Little Women in a time when women were not suppose to be successful is a journey that I know will be inspiring and filled with angst as she navigates her popularity, her finances, her sisters and most of all feelings for the one man who has always loved her Laurie. I love the coloring of the cover. The green tones showing Jo holding her book behind her back still not ready to accept fully her success or the brightness, like the red tones of the letters on the cover, that could be added to her life by accepting Laurie's love.
