People are getting mad because this isn't what Alcott wanted. She wanted Jo to be independent and not need a man. I personally always loved Laurie; when I was younger I wanted him and Jo to get together. I loved the idea of the boy next door getting married to his best friend, but then he ended up with Amy (Sigh). This is a retelling, so things are going to be different. I'm always down for a retelling of my favorite classic novel. I'm very interested in seeing how this retelling turns out. I'm curious if Amy is going to be completely ignored and how Jo and Laurie's "romance" turns out.
