I've always wondered what could have happened if Jo had made different choices. Obviously I'm not alone in wanting her to have opted for a life that included Laurie as something other than a brother in law. It's interesting to see her struggle with what so many authors face when they have success and then experience the pressure to be who the readers expect or follow it with more.
