Little Women is one of my all time favorites. In the 70s & 80s, I read everything there was to read about and by LMA. While in grade school I attempted both a new biography and a play version of the book; obviously, I was a tad young for these projects and did not complete them.
I approached this romantic fantasy with a little trepidation, but was happily surprised. The authors meld facts with the fiction in a balanced and very readable manner. They do not dumb down the language from the 19th century idioms. By the end of the third chapter all of the principles have been well established.
