I was not able to finish this book, although I tried to give it a good chance. I am not normally into romantic, chick lit types of books, but this seemed promising, and I owned the book already, so giving it a shot was easy.
First, I didn’t seem like initially the characters were that likeable. I had issues with both the male and female leads, that was difficult to get past. I found their meeting and subsequent deal to pretend to be engaged/ entangled to be unrealistic, even for a romance novel. Asking someone to pretend to be your boyfriend after meeting them for thirty minutes is just so out there for me, it was a deal breaker.
Now, the book may have gotten better, but I didn’t end up finishing it. There are so many books in the world, that forcing yourself to read one you aren’t enjoying is not good.
I’m sure this is someone’s cup of tea— just not mine!
