Rising social media influencer, Sara, has spent most of her life trying to prove to the rest of her family that she is as successful and high-achieving as the rest of them. But when her boyfriend bails on a family vacation in Key West at the last minute, leaving her by herself to deal with everyone, she recruits a local firefighter, Luis, to be her stand-in boyfriend.
The fake-relationship is one of my favorite romance tropes and this one was really enjoyable! I needed a light read to balance a heavier one I was reading at the same time and this one definitely fit the bill. Sara and Luis both had past emotional baggage to deal with, including a history of an eating-disorder with Sara. While I am not an expert on the subject, overall I thought this was handled well. You could instantly feel the chemistry between the two and it was fun to see them get closer over the course of the week. There were some times where things felt repetitive or moved a little slow, and then the ending wrapped up a bit quick for my liking. Check this out if you're in the mood for a new romance with an island flair.
