You already know how the story goes if you’ve read a fake dating novel in the past. This was a sweet story with a healthy dose of family forgiveness and vulnerability. It’s the first in a series. It was closed door, for the most part, so there were no awkward references to nubs.
I generally don’t like family drama stories but this novel still worked for me in spite of that. I read the first look here on Bookish First, didn’t win the raffle copy, and was so into what I already read that I found the book after it was published. I’m a huge fake dating rom-com fan so it’s no surprise I liked the book. But I do recommend it to rom-com lovers out there.
