I was so excited to read Island Affair. The cover is absolutely beautiful. The colors are so vibrant and cheerful. I was excited to escape to Key West and Sara and Luis’s love story, but I could not get into the book. I tried so hard, but I found myself reading a few pages and then not wanting to go back to it. For me, reading it was like trying to walk through wet cement. It took the characters 3 pages to view into a sandwich. Ad much as I wanted to love this book, I am unable to finish it. I hope to be able to pick it up later when I don’t need a fast paced book to distract me. Priscilla Oliveras does a fantastic job of being descriptive and making you are in Key West with Luis and Sara.
