Island Affair starts out with Luis lamenting that he is being forced to take a week off from his job as a fire fighter. We are given the impression that he has witnessed a tragic event in his past and recently that have concerned those around him. I was immediately interested to learn more about his past as well as about him. The other main character, Sara, has just been left in the lurch by her now ex-boyfriend and needs someone to stand in as her significant other on a family vacation. As luck would have it, she crosses paths with Luis and they strike a deal.
I have to say that I'm already drawn in by these characters. I want to know more about their back story and see how they will interact with each other and Sara's family. The setting of Florida seems perfect and the beautiful cover gives off that beach vibe.
