This started out a bit slow. It starts with one of the main characters and his brother talking at a fire station where they both work. As they talk you learn a little bit about him and a hint of something happening in his past that devastated him enough that everyone thinks he needs help from a therapist. But he doesn't believe it. While leaving he meets the other main character and she is in a situation were she needs a fiance to meet her family which is flying in in an hour. She asks him to pretend for the next 7 days and he excepts.
