An "Island Affair" started to remind me a bit like Kasie West's stories, but with less relatability and character quirkiness as Kasie adds a few unique habits that play into the story for the characters which I find cute. This story's excerpt was cute in of itself, but I also felt as if I have already read it based on the blurb.

I predicted that there would be a main character with a friend who was her foil, either the usual 'shy and lonely' maybe even 'cheated on' main character who's friend encourages better things for her, including going to an island of sorts. I do not like these types of things because while it is important to have a supporting friend and people who care and show it, I always find it is a little sad that all the 'friend' is is a way to get the plot moving.

The main character will then fall in love with the hunk-ier male character who rivals her ex and will show her he is not like her ex at all and that he is better.
