A bit of a slow start, a bit of a silly concept, but two interesting characters

I really enjoyed this excerpt even though it dragged a little. What really made me like it were the two characters. They has compelling backstories that I’m interested in finding out more about and so even though these first chapters felt a bit slow, I’d love to read more. I also love the Spanish. It’s one of those things that stands out for me as something interesting and enjoyable. The overall concept of the fake boyfriend is a bit too silly for me usually but I thought the presentation was actually very believable. It does still feel a bit like a hallmark movie premise, but like I said, the characters are really interesting. I’m really curious about what is happening with Luis and his brother, and I am dying to know what her family is like. Because they honestly sound kind of horrible and really unsympathetic. Overall, it sounds like a book I’d want to read, although i probably wouldn’t have picked it up based on the premise alone.
