I love the main characters in this story are Native American. There is so little out there in current fiction that includes this important segment of society. Most of what includes them is either historical fiction or old cowboy westerns. There is little, if anything, that shows their experience today.
Also, I think that anything that opens a reader's eyes to the realities of foster care is great. Hopefully, it will inspire at least one to look into becoming a foster parent.
