I've read many books where the prologue or introduction is written in an extremely different voice or style than the main portion of the book. Unfortunately, the sample here isn't showing anything past the prologue so I don't have a lot to go on. I can't tell if the book will be more historical (less interesting) or more of a memoir (much more interesting). I'll keep an eye out for this one but can't make a decision based on the limited sample.
