I really enjoyed the multimedia aspect of this memoir. The illustrations and poem added to the mood and tone of the excerpt without being distracting or disjointed.
I appreciated the pronunciation guide at the beginning. I love knowing how names are pronounced because I believe names are important, and it also makes reading easier because I am not being distracted and pulled from the narrative by the puzzling over names (it is one of the reasons I do not read much fantasy).
The prologue is very well written and the storytelling is very strong.
