I loved the cover. The narrative not so much. While I do enjoy memoirs, as well as historical non fiction books, I didn't like the writing style in this particular book. The lyrical prose just didn't grab me and took away from the historical aspect and made the book appear like a fantasy. I think the book would have a greater impact if it were straightforward rather than poetry-like.
