I don't normally go for memoirs, since I'm not a really a fan of nonfiction, however, I've always been interested to try reading one because although memoirs are considered to be non-fiction, I believe they can be magical when written right. One thing that drew me to this memoir in particular is the interesting writing style. I liked how the author drew on the mythical meanings behind her names along with her father and son, and she used that to influence the writing style. I'm also intrigued by the fact that this is a story that unfolds through generations, and I'm curious about how the writer or the mother of this story will tell the story of her own story as well as her father's and her son's.
