Although this First Look did not give us too much to go on, the Prologue is a gripping opening to what looks like it will be a deeply personal, intriguing memoir. The structure of the book and its connection to the Chinese zodiac also makes me want to read more. I'd love to see how Chan's original Chinese brush paintings and vintage photographs, mentioned in the book summary, will be incorporated into the text. I'm not necessarily the target audience for this type of book, but that's why reading these First Looks is such a treat every week!
