In At the Deep End is described as Bridget Jones for lesbians. Not quite sure I agree with this description. When the book starts out, Julia has not had sex for three years, and before that never had enjoyable sex. Things get interesting when the story really heats up when she decides (?, I am not sure if that is the right word) that she is a lesbian. She is dives headfirst into a new lifestyle and does not look back.

I don't know if I have ever read a book with as much character development as this one. Julia's sexual transformation from beginning to end was fun to read about as she experimented with her new found sexuality.

I had a little difficulty with a lot of the Bristish slang terms. Other than that, this is an often times intense, but fun read.
