I loved this story of a boy who loses his father to a murderer and how he comes to discover who the killer is. Nnamdi learns things are not always as they seem and sometimes who you think is evil can be trusted. He learns things about himself, his father and others and realizes he is stronger than he ever knew. I loved the characters Nnamdi and Chioma and how their friendship grows and changes as the story progresses. All the characters had such good descriptions that I felt like I could see them all in my mind's eye. The names of the characters were also very entertaining. I loved reading about the foods and descriptions of the places visited by Nnamdi and Chioma. Learning things about another culture and country is one of the reasons I wanted to read this book to begin with. The author is a wonderful writer and I will look forward to reading more of their work.
