Pretty good, for younger readers

Okofora's sets the stage and tone for her new book "Ikenga" beautifully: corruption and power in plain sight, so pervasive that everyone knows but can do nothing against it; one good man's futile struggle against that power, resulting in his murder.

This is a middle grade novel for a reason, though; his father comes back as a ghost to give Nnamdi an object that will give him the (super)power to seek justice against the man who killed him, an Ikenga. My interest did drop a little here, as superhero stories for younger readers isn't my preference, especially in novel form. So well written for a middle grade novel, though.
