This book had a great hook to drawing me in. Setting the scene with the villains and culture of the story, Nnamdi has just lost his father whose murderer has still not met with justice. He lives in a corrupt city where bribery and threats rule. While reading I was getting some Batman and Gotham vibes but from a young boys perspective and a culture with myths that will help him become hero that his family and community desperately needs. I think young kids will definitely be interested in this novel with the modern day popularity of superheros and myths.
