Thank you to Bookish First, Ann Liang and Inkyard Press for a copy of If You Could See the Sun. I don't give away spoilers in my reviews.
This is a story of a teenager who is struggling to fit in with her rich peers in school. She's also struggling to be the daughter her traditional parents sacrifice and want her to be.
Alice/Sun is a thoughtful, brilliant young woman who also can be reckless and make mistakes. I liked seeing her grown throughout the book.
I also really liked her friendship with Henry Li. The competitiveness the two share trying to be the best was one of the best parts of the book. I thought the ending was perfect for the book.
The only thing I really didn't like was the invisibility part of her. I understand it was a big part of the book but I felt like it wasn't really explained how it started. I would have liked to read about the reasoning behind it. I don't give away spoilers but I felt like the invisiblity parts were distracting.
