After reading the first look, I can’t wait to read on! I love the author’s writing style, her words pull you in right from the start! The plot seems interesting and I particularly like the fact that this book exposes you to a different culture (the family dynamic described in the first look is completely different from my own)!
I’m personally not a fan of the cover, perhaps it’s too abstract / traditional looking. I feel like the cover art should be more modern and updated to have more visual appeal. Also, I can’t help but wonder why the girl on the cover appears to have green hair when the text explicitly mentioned the school doesn’t allow students to dye their hair..
This book is one I would have passed up if I saw it on the shelf, but having read the first look I definitely feel the need to read on. I can’t wait to get my hands on this book and find out what happens next!
