I was hooked from the beginning with this book. As soon as I finished the first look I thought: I need to know more about Alice. Henry seems interesting as well, so far the academic rivals part is very well written. I like Alice, the author did a good job so far of making me want to root for her. I want her to do well and get what she wants. I also want to see where her relationship goes. I was very impressed with this book. The only negative is I am not convinced the magical realism will be done well, as the first look doesn’t show much of that aspect of the book.
