Hmm. This sounds promising, but the first impression felt a bit slow to me. Alice isn't from a wealthy family, but her family has found a way to send her to a fancy prep school in China - until now. She starts off what might be her final semester at an awards ceremony, and by the end of it, she seems to be becoming invisible (literally). I'm curious to find out what's actually happening to her, and to see whether she stays at this school. Her wealthy classmates also seem interesting and I'm curious to find out what their secrets are. That all said, Alice's internal monologue felt a little slow/wordy, and overall it felt a little too YA for my personal preferences.
