The first look at If You Could See the Sun wasn't bad. I do think the synopsis/blurb captured my attention better than this first chapter, but this excerpt was just getting started with introducing the premise and characters. I wish I'd gotten another chapter! I'm definitely intrigued. The target audience is likely anyone interested in YA as it seems there will be themes of discovering oneself and weighing morals, like many coming of age stories. The cover is beautiful too, and reminds me aesthetically of books like A Magic Steeped in Poison or The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea. That whimsical imagery that I hope comes through in the rest of the book.
