If you were to judge a book by its cover, you would expect a multigenerational saga or coming of age story. But, going by the book's plot, you would expect a YA thriller a la Pretty Little Liars style. I suppose the premise could be interesting, if executed well. So far, it reads just like most multicultural YA.
