The premise was what originally caught my eye about IF YOU COULD SEE THE SUN. Academic rivals to lovers, a Chinese-American MC who's suddenly able to turn invisible? Using that ability to sell secrets? That just sounded like everything I could ever want in a book. My excitement continued to grow when the cover was revealed and snippets were released, along with blurbs from some of my favorite authors. The cover might be one of my favorites of all time - I love the minimalist use of blue, pink, and white. It catches the eye immediately!
The First Look solidified IF YOU COULD SEE THE SUN's place on my list of most anticipated reads of 2022. As a Chinese-American, I instantly related to Alice's thoughts on body image and academics. I might not have been super smart like she was but the pressure to have the best grades is an experience I shared throughout my years in school. I also already love Henry - cocky as he is. Their dynamic is so fun to read and I can't wait to see them work together (and later, of course, fall in love).
The First Look ended at just the right moment, as much as my mind may protest. It keeps the reader wanting more, and I definitely look forward to doing so!
