I'm blown away by what I read in the excerpt. The main character, Alice, has such a strong narrative voice, and the writing is bursting with personality. From the way Alice interacts with her parents, to the bustling way Beijing is described, I felt like I was right there alongside her. Love her bitterness toward her rival Henry, and can't wait to see how their relationship changes. Also, she turns invisible!
