I was not a big fan of this book. The synopsis sounded cute and interesting but the book just dragged for me. We started by being introduced to the entire Williams family and it was just a lot to keep track of. And for having so many characters, I didnt connect with any of them. They all seemed pretty basic and some were pretty annoying.
We learned the big twist in the first chapter about Grandpa Gerry, which was a shock and I thought the book could be good, but it just fell flat. I wish there was a bigger build up. I wanted more drama and shock from his family, but they all just kind of adjusted right away and moved on. There was so much drama going on that this book could have been really good, but it just was not executed well.
This book actually depressed me and put me into a bit of a reading slump. I wish I had just DNF'ed it but I kept giving it more chances to surprise me and get better.
I would recommend skipping this book if you are on the fence about reading it.
