If you love a good, juicy family drama, then If We're Being Honest is for you! Cat Shook's first novel is full of twists and turns, some of which you can see coming, but some surprising. The book moves from one character to the next and each one of them has something to add to the story. It's got sibling drama at its honest best. The cousins who know each other and can offer support for all of the family craziness was one of my favorite parts. There is a beautiful matriarch soul at the heart of the story. I don't really want to tell you anything about what's at the heart of the events because it will ruin the suprise, but I will tell you that it starts out WILD and everything goes from there. In the end, the family is a family and, well, you can't ask for more than that.
This book would have been helped out by a page at the beginning of the book that maps out the family tree. It took me a while to get everyone straight, but I eventually figured it out.
