"If We're Being Honest" by Cat Shoot is another book I missed reviewing shortly after reading it. Bummer! "If We're Being Honest" is a witty book that is reminiscent of so many books I've read and loved. It's of a genre that I sometimes forget I like so much. I tend to gravitate toward mystery and suspense, or classic chick lit, but this one just falls more in line with plain ol' contemporary adult fiction. I love books that involve a lot of colorful family characters, with a lot of colorful family drama to go along, and this book definitely provides that. It does lean a little toward having too many characters to keep up with, so that does get a little tricky. I am surprised that this book didn't get a little bit more hype, and am even more surprised to see that it has very mediocre ratings now that it's been out a while. I hope more readers will pick this one up and give it a try!
