3.5/5 stars! I enjoyed this book. The beginning was a bit slow because it was hard to follow everything that was happening. But I would say that the pacing leveled out at approximately 20% into the story. Once that happened, I liked it a lot more. This felt like a book version of Four Weddings and a Funeral or something similar. I don't read a lot of family drama stories and found this was handled very well. You were able to root for multiple characters and the conclusion was both gratifying and surprising. This is a very heartfelt novel and I'd love to learn more about if the story came from the author's personal experiences at all. I do wish the chapters were shorter. Their length made it hard to stay engaged in the story at times and I would notice my mind beginning to wander. With the exception of that, this was an enjoyable read that I would highly recommend for fans of character-driven family stories.
