Wow. Truly gorgeous writing style and so many lines I want to take and make into an inspirational quote poster. "Meeting in time to say goodbye means we met in time to say hello."
Relevant and accurate depictions of: sibling love, death and grief, parents who let us down and parents who keep us up, friendships that feel like family, anxiety and grappling mental health, LGBTQ identities and love, cancer and mortality, fate and the universe.
This novel made me laugh, cry and feel understood. I hope as others read this book, especially teenagers who have to battle so many things in today's world, they feel that same level of hope and understanding.
My only critiques are the slightly slow start to the book. I wasn't sure where we were going for the first 100+ pages but by the end you appreciate the author's slow drip into the flood of the story. I also personally am not a fan of books with super specific pop culture references from today because you never know what elements of our culture are going to endure.
