First of all, I absolutely love the concept for this story. There's something about the idea of two soulmates findings each other throughout time that just warms my heart. The cover is gorgeous too!
Unfortunately, however, this story didn't land like I thought it would. It ultimately was just an okay read for me.
The thing I didn't like most about this story was the pacing; it was just too uneven for my liking. Tying into that, while I understood the purpose of seeing into the characters' past, the flashbacks didn't always work for me. They felt a little forced, and that made the chemistry between the characters not as strong as I was hoping it would be.
The narrative definitely felt complex to me; I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. For me, it was a bad thing, as it left me feeling confused at times. But it's very possible other readers may feel differently (and in fact love it).
